Hello out there? My website has been offline for way too long. I will be keeping everyone whose the slightest bit interested posted about upcoming events, recordings, interviews, reviews, articles I write and upcoming shows. In time you will be begging me to stop.
Count on me periodically shooting my mouth off in completely inappropriate ways about things I know nothing about. Just know that I never let facts get in the way of my opinions. I am not paid to think and I am not entirely sure if I am a real writer (as in words with no music you can actually hear)
Nevertheless this week begins a 5 part series I have written for Magnet Magazine online. I beguiled my guileless editor-in-chief at Magnet, Matthew Fitch, into thinking that I actually could write... by my use of words!! "Ingenious, Josie!" Why thank you ! I am nothing if not self-ingratiating.
It starts tomorrow 3/23/09 , everyday a new installment, and will drag on for 5 days! I mean... march into the halls of history with seething scrutiny and acerbic wit not seen since the glory days of Ancient Greece. It could happen!
This series is about the making of my most recent c.d., 'Invasion Of The B Girls' (a collection of theme songs from b movies of the 60's and 70's that I re-recorded). I talk about my bazaar encounter with Russ Meyers, my dealings with John Waters and I do a few re-reviews of those very movies. Re-reviewing is a new profession I just now created so let me be the first to give myself credit. "Nicely done, Cotton" My pleasure!
Just so you know, I respond well to flattery, deserved or not, and would love to hear from you especially if you agree with everything I have to say :)
That's all for now, World.
XO
JC
